Information collected
- Your name, email address and correspondence.
- Your selected service, preferred CV template, target role, deadlines and application notes.
- The CV or other documents you choose to upload, including the employment, education and contact information they contain.
- Payment confirmation, amount and order reference. Card details are processed by Stripe and are not received or stored by Newton Professional CV Services.
- Limited technical and security information generated when you use the website.
Please avoid including sensitive information unless it is relevant and you want it considered. This may include information about health or disability, ethnicity, religion, political opinions, trade-union membership, genetics, biometrics, sex life or sexual orientation. Sensitive information you choose to provide is used only to prepare the requested documents.
Why information is used
Information is used to review enquiries, prepare and deliver requested documents, communicate with you, take payment, maintain required business records, prevent misuse and resolve questions or disputes. The lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing the contract, meeting legal obligations and legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service. Explicit consent is used for special-category information you choose to include. You may withdraw that consent by emailing the address above; this does not affect processing already carried out or information that must be retained for another lawful reason.
Who information is shared with
Information is not sold. It is shared only when necessary with service providers supporting the business: OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare for website hosting, database and document storage; Resend and Google Workspace for transactional and business email; and Stripe for payment processing. Information may also be disclosed where required by law. Where a provider processes information outside the UK, recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections are relied upon as applicable.
How long information is kept
Customer submissions, uploaded CVs, working documents and routine correspondence are normally retained for up to 12 months after the service is completed or the last meaningful contact, then securely deleted unless they are needed for an unresolved request or legal claim. Payment and accounting records are retained for the period required by law. You may request earlier deletion where no legal or contractual reason requires continued retention.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to limit access, protect accounts and store submitted documents securely. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please send only information needed for the service.
Website cookies and automated decisions
The website uses only technology necessary to operate secure submissions, private order pages, payments and owner access. It does not currently use advertising cookies or optional analytics cookies. If non-essential cookies are introduced, consent controls and this notice will be updated before they are used. No solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects is made about customers.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain uses. You may also withdraw consent where consent is relied upon. Email your request to hello@newtoncvservices.co.uk. Identity may need to be verified. Requests will be handled without undue delay and normally within one month, subject to any lawful extension.
Complaints
To make a data protection complaint, email hello@newtoncvservices.co.uk with the subject “Data protection complaint”. It will be acknowledged promptly, investigated fairly and you will be kept informed of the outcome. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
